I travelled 200 miles with my two sons to buy Prime drinks from Wakey Wines shop that sells bottles for £100 | The Sun

A WOMAN travelled 200 miles with her two sons to buy Prime drink from Wakey Wines who sell bottles for £100.

The well-known shop is owned by Mohammad Azar Nazir, 42, who became an online sensation after shifting Prime for eye-watering prices.

Wakey Wines is even nicknamed Britain's most expensive newsagent after flogging the £1.99 energy drink for more than £100 per bottle.

Prime has become the first "viral drink" and is in ever-increasing demand in UK shops.

In one of his most recent TikTok videos, Nazir is seen greeting a mum and two young lads from London.

And the customers confessed they made the long journey from the capital just to get their hands on two bags of WFD sweets and a can of Prime.

The trio are not the only ones who have trekked to Wakefield for the popular beverage.

The drink is so hot among youngsters that desperate parents have travelled more than 500 miles to Wakey Wines just to get their hands on a bottle.

While another customer boasted in a clip that she paid more than £1,200 for the cans.

Other videos showed a group of girls who had travelled 133 miles from Carlisle, Cumbria, to the Yorkshire based off-license.

Nazir often gets his customers to pose with the drink and describe his firm as the best in Wakefield in his viral videos.

But outrage over the inflated prices led to Nazir's TikTok account being banned.

His page had around 500,000 followers before being removed although the account was quickly reinstated.

Prime contains mostly water added with vitamins and minerals, with few calories and no added sugar.

Advertised as a "hydration drink" it is also made up of coconut water but does not have any caffeine in it.

The canned version of the drink has only launched in the US, with UK retailers usually only stocking the bottled version.

Prime co-founder and YouTuber KSI warned his followers not to buy the drink at such high prices.

The drink, also founded by YouTuber Logan Paul, is sold for just £2 at major retailers.

But supermarkets have even seen stampedes of customers and parents wrestling kids out of the way to get their hands on a bottle.

And on Facebook Marketplace, bottles are being offered for 10 times the original price tag.
