I was fuming when a 'lazy' Hermes delivery driver RUINED my brand new trainers when he left them in a rain-soaked bin

A WOMAN was left fuming after a Hermes delivery driver ruined her brand new trainers by leaving them in a rain-soaked bin.

Ldyia Mbuyi from Gorton, Manchester, ordered a pair of trainers for herself and some joggers for her son from JD Sports online last Friday.

The mum even splashed out on next-day delivery so her son could have the trousers before he went away for the weekend.

She received a standard text from Hermes advising her that her package would arrive between 10:30 am and 12:30pm on Saturday, reports Manchester Evening News.

Lydia knew she would be working so she asked for the parcel to be left with her retired neighbours who were home.

However, she returned to her house to find that her package had been left in her rain-soaked blue wheelie bin.

Lydia said: "When I opened the bin it was full of water. There was water from the rain. Whoever delivered it threw it in the bin.

“There were three people [next door when it was delivered] — why leave it in the bin?

“They are always in. They always are okay with collecting my parcels, I have been doing it for a while.”

She revealed that she had to go to Asda to pick up a new pair of joggers for her son after the water damage to the Hermes parcel.

Despite the frustrating ordeal, Lydia was adamant that she did not want compensation, just a better service in the future.

The mum said: “I want to make sure the whole world knows what they have done.

“I do not want compensation. I just want this to stop. That’s all I want. I want them to do their jobs properly. It is just lazy.”

A Hermes spokesperson said: "We will speak to the courier involved to ensure that this does not happen again.
