A country house abandoned for decades became a hot spot for ghost hunters after a dress belonging to its former owner was spookily found still hanging in one of its rooms.
Paranormal investigators who've visited Calcott Hall – AKA Red Dress Manor – reportedly made contact with the spirit of Ellen Jones who is thought to have died at the old dairy farm – one group even recording unexplained spikes in electromagnetic pulse readings whilst at the crumbling property.
Even more bizarrely, when the dress – along with a photograph of Ellen wearing it – was stolen by trophy hunters another identical red garment mysteriously turned up to replace it in 2017.
The Georgian building, which is on the Powys/Shropshire border between England and Wales, has gradually gained national notoriety thanks to its eerie interiors which have remained untouched since the early 1970s – the last time anyone lived there.
Indeed, the upstairs rooms still have beds and, in some cases, the original sheets, with a television, old gramophone and various notepads, books and paperwork all scattered about.
The kitchen drawers are still full of cooking utensils, with washing-up in the sink, an old free-standing cooker and a large freezer, reports WalesOnline.
In the living room there's an armchair and a 1930s fireplace, whilst throughout the rest of the place are what's left of the owner's personal items, from old photographs and letters to slippers and shoes, handbags and hairbrushes.
Until very recently there was even a rusting old family car still sat outside.
Now too dangerous to explore – with multiple holes in the roof and floors collapsing right down into the cellar – the Grade II-listed house, which is located in 2.37 acres, has been on Save Britain's Heritage (SAVE) 'at risk' register for many years.
A huge renovation job, it's also been on the market for almost a year, priced £700k, with its network of barns and outbuildings touted as ideal for conversion into residential units.
And clearly someone's been tempted as it's now listed as sold, subject to contract.
