New footage from January 6 revealed Nancy Pelosi threatened to hit former president Donald Trump if he showed up with rioters storming the Capitol.
Footage obtained by CNN from Pelosi’s daughter shows the Speaker of the House frustrated over Trump’s speech asking his followers to march to the Capitol to protest the certification of the 2020 presidential election.
When an aide tells Pelosi that the Secret Service warned Trump not to go to Capitol Hill, she said she would punch the former president if he ignored the warnings.
‘If he comes, I’m going to punch him out,’ Pelosi said with a straight face. I’ve been waiting for this. For trespassing on the Capitol grounds, I’m going to punch him out.
‘And I’m going to go to jail, and I’m going to be happy.’

The protest unraveled into a riot as people broke into the Capitol building, forcing lawmakers to evacuate in a chaos, with new footage depicting the panic and anger of America’s top members of Congress
The footage shown by CNN had snippets of it publicly aired on Thursday by the January 6 committee.
The full, raw footage, however, shows the full chaos taking place during the infamous riot that left five dead as lawmakers sought shelter in Fort McNair.
Most of the film shows Pelosi’s movements on January 6, including a phone call she made to then-Vice President Mike Pence asking about his physical safety, following threats to ‘Hang Mike Pence.’
‘We’re at Fort McNair, which has facilities for the House and the Senate to meet, as a backup plan… should anything happen that would warrant that,’ Pelosi tells Pence. ‘We’d rather go to the Capitol and do it there, but it doesn’t seem to be safe.’
As Pelosi discusses moving on with the certification of Joe Biden, she urges Pence to stay safe and hidden from the rioters.
‘I worry about you being in that Capitol room,’ Pelosi said. ‘Don’t let anybody know where you are.’
Pelosi could be seen phoning Mike Pence several times, asking about his safety
There were calls to hang the former Vice President after Trump called on him to stop the certification of the 2020 election
Pelosi told Pence that the Capitol was not safe after rioters clashed with police, and warned the former Vice President to stay hidden and not disclose his location to anyone
The footage also shows a phone call Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer had with Secretary of the Army Ryan McCarthy after hearing rumors that the National Guard wouldn’t be called to end the riot.
‘I’d like to know a good God damn reason why it’s been denied,’ Schumer said. ‘Please – the whole Capitol is rampaged.
‘There is a picture of someone sitting in the chair of the Senate. We’ve all been evacuated. There have been shots fired. We need a full National Guard component, now!’
Congress’ top two Democrats are then joined by other lawmakers, including Mitch McConnel;, to grill Defense Secretary Christopher Miller on the slow response.
McConnell tells Miller that National Guard troops need to be ‘getting there in one hell of a hurry,’ with Schumer echoing the urgency to restore order in the Capitol.
‘This is an emergency,’ Schumer says, ‘where life and limb are at stake.’

The new footage also shows both top Republican and Democratic lawmakers urge Defense Department leaders to send out the National Guard to quell the riot
The new footage adds on to the previous compilations shown on Thursday where Pelosi was seen calling Virginia Governor Ralph Northam begging for National Guard support.
‘It’s just horrendous, and all at the instigation of the President of the United States,’ Pelosi said in the video.
It was the first time such video has been shown of the frantic hours in which lawmakers hid in undisclosed locations while police were grappling with the mob.
Another part of the video shows Pelosi and Schumer calling Trump’s acting attorney general, Jeff Rosen, for aid.
‘Why don’t you get the president to tell them to leave the Capitol, Mr. Attorney General, in your law enforcement responsibility?’ Schumer shot at Rosen. ‘A public statement – they should all leave.’
Pelosi tells him, ‘They’re breaking in, they’re ransacking our offices, all that – that’s nothing.’
‘The concern we have about personal harm – personal safety – it just transcends anything,’ she continued.
‘But the fact is on any given day they’re breaking the law in many different ways – and quite frankly, much of it at the instigation of the President of the United States.’
Throughout the event, Pelosi laid the blame on former President Donald Trump
She and Schumer (above) made several calls to bring out troops to stop the riot, voicing their frustration over the bureaucracy slowing the deployment
While it does not broadly differ from previous narratives and accounts of those hours, the videos paint a visceral picture of the fear and uncertainty lawmakers felt as well as their determination to solve the crisis.
The new, disturbing footage came at the end of the hearing where the panel voted unanimously 9-0 to subpoena Trump to give testimony under oath and hand over documents related to the Capitol riot.
The seven Democrats and two Republicans also shared new evidence that Trump was sent drafts of a speech saying he won the election on October 31 – four days before the general election on November 3, 2020.
They also shared new clips and testimony suggesting Trump was going to declare victory even if he was losing and proof that he knew he had been defeated, but kept pushing his election fraud claims.
The January 6 Senate Committee unanimously voted to subpoena Trump and have him testify under oath, as well as hand over documents related to the riot
Introducing the historic motion, Committee Vice Chair Liz Cheney said: ”We must seek the testimony under oath of January 6th’s key player.’
Trump lashed out at the committee on his Truth Social app, demanding to know why they did not move on him earlier.
‘Why didn’t the Unselect Committee ask me to testify months ago? Why did they wait until the very end, the final moments of their last meeting? Because the Committee is a total “BUST” that has only served to further divide our Country which, by the way, is doing very badly – A laughing stock all over the World?’ the former president wrote.
He followed up with more vitriol, this time directed at Pelosi herself: Why didn’t Crazy Nancy Pelosi call out the “troops” before January 6th, which I strongly recommended that she do. It was her responsibility, but she “didn’t like the look.” Crazy Nancy failed the American People!’
