Billionaire Jeff Bezos claims humans will give birth in space in the future with a whole colony being built there that would use Earth as a holiday home.
The Amazon and Blue Origin founder says that centuries from now people will live in giant cylinders in space that could recreate natural environments from Earth.
This would see rivers, forests and even wildlife recreated in a space home which could house a million people.
Bezos made his future predictions during a surprise appearance at 2021 Ignatius Forum in Washington, DC.
Speaking at the event, Bezos said: “Over centuries, many people will be born in space, it will be their first home.
“They will be born on these colonies, live on these colonies, then they'll visit Earth the way you would visit, you know, Yellowstone National Park.”
Bezos, 57, has spoken regarding space colonization in the past with his Blue Origin company presenting concepts of space habitats in 2019.
According to Business Insider, Bezos described the colonies as being able to have weather compared to “Maui on its best day” and claimed it would be possible “all year long”.

He also told the Guardian that there will be no rain or earthquakes.
The concept was named the O'Neill space colony, in tribute to Princeton physicist Gerard O'Neill who came up with the idea in 1976, and the ambitious plans would see a trillion people living in space.
O'Neill’s theory was that other planets may not be sustainable for human life beyond Earth, something which Bezos agrees with.

During the conference this week, Bezos added: “Even if you were to terraform Mars or do something very dramatic like that — which could be very, very challenging, by the way — even if you were to do that, that is, at most, a doubling of Earth.”
“Then you're going from 10 billion people to 20 billion people.”
Bezos also confirmed he believes in extraterrestrials and questioned “how could there not be?” with so many galaxies.
