Jet2 passenger kicked off flight for 'trying to open plane door' is 'wild neighbour always having noisy parties'

A JET2 passenger who was kicked off a flight for allegedly trying to open the plane door is a "wild neighbour always having noisy parties."

Rowdy Catherine Bush was fined £5,000 and banned for life by Jet2 after she yelled at cabin crew and allegedly slapped passengers.

But her former neighbours today claimed that Ms Bush is "wild" and "gets into arguments" at home.

The rowdy Jet2 passenger was allegedly a "handful" to live near and would have loud parties at her house during lockdown, they said.

Earlier this week, footage showed the mum-of-one, from Bradford, West Yorkshire, causing trouble aboard a flight from Manchester to Antalya in Turkey on Monday.

She squared up to and argued with cabin crew and is said to have tried to open a door mid-flight.

The footage also appears to show her slapping one passenger and the plane was forced to divert to Vienna, where she was marched off the plane to cheers from customers.

One friend said she’d been travelling to get 20 zirconium veneers – costing £3,000 – for her new set of teeth.

And residents claimed that when she lived at her former address, she frequently became involved in arguments.

One told the Sun Online: “When she first moved here she seemed OK.

“But the police had to be called a few times.

“She was always getting into arguments with people."

“During lockdown, she was having parties out back and there was a lot of noise, but she just carried on as normal.”

Another resident said: “She could be a bit wild. She was a handful when she lived here.”

Catherine moved to a new home two miles away last year – and residents there also doubted she would pay the fine she was handed by Jet2.

Managing Director of Jet2.com Phil Ward said: “Ms Bush displayed a continued pattern of appalling behaviour on the flight and she must now face up to the consequences of her actions.

"We have always made it abundantly clear that, as a family-friendly airline, we take a zero-tolerance approach to such behaviour and that we will vigorously pursue any costs incurred as a result of such an incident.

“Although such incidents are very rare, it is unacceptable that our customers and crew should have to experience it.

'We would like to apologise to anyone who had to experience this behaviour and we would like to commend our highly-trained crew for their exceptional handling of this difficult situation.' Jet2.com said it would fully support any investigation.”
