WHEN it comes to celebrating the work of our brilliant NHS workers, it is a case of brew dares wins.
The nation is being invited to have a cuppa on July 5 to show its support for healthcare staff and join the UK’s biggest tea break.

The NHS Big Tea event will raise vital funds for NHS Charities Together, which has supported medics, patients and volunteers in the pandemic.
It is part of a weekend of celebrations that kicks off with Thank You Day on July 4.
If you want to raise a cup to our NHS heroes, throw your own tea party on July 5. It can even be a virtual event.
After you sign up on its website, NHS Charities Together will send a fundraising pack to plan.
Kind Sun readers already raised £1million for NHS Charities Together when the pandemic first started — and now it needs your support again.
'COME TOGETHER'
Research from the charity found nearly half of us believe regular tea breaks helped the nation get through the pandemic.
Chief executive Ellie Orton said: “After so many months of isolation, the NHS Big Tea is a chance for communities to come together and thank NHS staff for everything they have done.”
It’s a fitting celebration for those who work and volunteer on the Tea Truck project.
The scheme received £100,000 of NHS Charities Together funding and launched in February 2020.
Eight converted trucks now whizz across London providing ambulance workers and 999 call handlers with well-earned cuppas.
London Ambulance Service worker Nicky Shipp, 40, who manages the “tea truckers”, said: “Staff and volunteers really appreciate being able to take five minutes out for a tea. That break can make a huge difference to their well-being.”
NHS Charities Together also announced £7million of funding in March to support ambulance volunteers across the country.
The service is putting its funds towards recruiting 60,000 more London Lifesavers, who are trained to use defibrillators so they can help people suffering from a heart attack.
Another beneficiary of NHS Charities Together cash is the Teddy Bear Nursery at University Hospital Llandough, in the Vale of Glamorgan.
During the pandemic it provided emergency childcare for Cardiff and Vale University Health Board staff.
Its senior fundraiser, Georgina Burke, 40, said: “We’re so grateful for the wonderful nursery workers, who are amazing and treat the children like their own.”
Children at the nursery will be holding a tea party with their teddies on July 5.
The NHS Big Tea event is backed by Love Islander and A&E doctor Dr Alex George.
Alex, 30, said: “This a chance for us all to get together and provide even more support to the NHS as it tries to recover from the impact of Covid.”
And Bake Off winner Nadiya Hussain, 36, said: “The NHS Big Tea is the perfect opportunity for us to raise money to support NHS staff as they keep battling for us.”
