A man has been arrested after allegedly throwing eggs at King Charles and Camilla.
The monarch and Queen Consort were walking around York, Yorkshire when they came under fire from a lone egg-man who missed the couple with each of his three attempts.
As crowds gathered behind barriers lined across a pavement to a road closed for the Royals to walk down, vehement shouting could be heard.
Outside a row of independent businesses, someone yelled in the direction of the King, "this country was built on the blood of slaves".
Uniformed police then rushed to swarm the suspected assailant under the supervision of men who appear to be private security.
Members of the crowd responded to the chaos with chants of “God save the King” and “shame on you” at the protester.
