KSI blasts stores ‘reselling’ Prime at higher prices as shops vow to BOYCOTT energy drink | The Sun

KSI has blasted stores for reselling Prime at higher prices – with shops now vowing to boycott stocking the energy drink.

Prime has become the first "viral drink" and is in ever-increasing demand in UK shops.

The drink has seen shoppers queuing for hours to nab the drinks containing mostly water added with vitamins and minerals, with few calories and no added sugar.

The drink is so hot among youngsters that desperate parents have travelled more than 500 miles just to get their hands on a bottle.

Supermarkets have even seen stampedes of customers and parents wrestling kids out of the way to get their hands on a bottle.

And the £2 hydration drink has even been flogged online for upwards of £50,000 on ebay.

But now internet sensation KSI has spoken out against the greedy resellers.

He said: “I don’t like the resale. I hate the reselling so like even when Asda tried to up their prices to £2.50

“I was tweeting them like no, no, no. This is out of order.

“This isn’t Prime doing this. This is Asda. And instantly they brought it back down to £2.”

It comes as one off-licence is choosing to boycott selling Prime drinks, so it doesn’t annoy its customers.

Walton Food and Wine had been flogging them for £10 a pop. It had also been selling them via Deliveroo orders for £20.

But staff at the shop in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey, have now decided to stop selling the craze drink after a backlash.

One shop worker said: “My friend gave me one or two boxes.

“They cost me £8.50 per bottle, so I sold them for £10 each.

“Some customers ask and it’s very expensive to stock, I don’t want to lose custom.”

The drink's popularity grew after YouTube stars Logan Paul and KSI promoted the drink around high-profile celebrity boxing bouts in the UK.

The duo came up with the idea for coconut water-based Prime Hydration after their final boxing match in 2019.
