Land, air and sea search launched after man on kayaking trip goes missing off Scottish coast

A SEARCH has been launched after a 35-year-old man failed to return home from a weekend sea-kayaking trip.

Dominic Jackson, 35, left his home in Laurencekirk, Scotland, on Friday to head up the north east coast for the Portsoy Harbour area.


He was reported missing after he failed to return home last night.

Cops, the RNLI and coastguard launched land, air and sea searches  at Portsoy Harbour and further along the coastline.

Inspector Ewan Strachan said: “Intensive coastal searches will continue this morning extending east and west from Portsoy Harbour with assistance from the coastguard.

"Concerns are obviously growing for Dominic’s safety and wellbeing and we urgently want to trace him.

“I would urge anyone with information to contact police on 101."

Mr Jackson's VW has been found in the area, his kayak is purple, blue and white.
