Las Vegas pre-schooler is found dead in a FREEZER after his sister tips off police when she hands alarming note to her elementary school teacher

  • They searched home and found young boy dead inside a freezer in the garage

A young boy was found dead in a freezer after his mother sent a note describing how her boyfriend was holding her against her will to school with her older daughter. 

Officers from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department were contacted by the young girl’s elementary school teacher shortly after 8am on Tuesday after the child handed in the alarming note.

In the note, the child’s mother said she was being held against her will in the home she shared with her boyfriend and that she has not seen her son since December 11.

She went on to say that she believed her son, who was of preschool-age, was dead, Las Vegas homicide Lt. Ray Spencer said.

Patrol officers  saw the mother and her boyfriend leave the home and detained them before detectives  began searching the house at around 4.30pm

The authorities immediately began surveilling the family’s home in northeast Las Vegas.

At around 10am, officers saw the mother and her boyfriend leave the home and detained them.

Detectives then began searching the house at around 4.30pm and found the body of the young boy in a freezer in the garage.

During her interview, the mother told officers that she was being abused by her partner and had been instructed not to enter the garage or ask about her missing child, the police said.  

Las Vegas homicide Lt. Ray Spencer said: ‘She stated that she had not seen her child alive since December 11.

‘During the course of that interview she described that she had undergone abuse by her boyfriend who she lived with.

‘She was not allowed to leave the house and she was not able to go into the garage of the residence.’

The mother’s boyfriend, who was not the father of either child, has been arrested and booked into the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas. 

Lt. Ray Spencer added: ‘Anybody who is going through situations where you feel you cannot handle a child, you can bring that child to a hospital, you can bring that child to a fire station, you can call 211, there are a lot of resources out there.’

One neighbor said she became suspicious of a U-Haul truck parked in the driveway of the home where the boy’s body was found

One neighbor told KVVU-TV: ‘We’ve been a quiet neighborhood. We are a new, quiet neighborhood.’

They went to to say that they had contacted the HOA this month after becoming suspicious of a U-Haul truck parked outside the home where the boy was found.

The neighbor added: ‘Within the last week, week and a half. It has been sitting in front of that house, and we’ve been contacting HOA again.’
