A roofing company boss has been hailed a ‘legend’ after throwing a ‘Love Island’-themed pool party and BBQ for all of his staff as well as giving them a full paid day off to enjoy the fun.
As the heatwave descended across the UK yesterday, Stuart Houston fitted out the carpark of the HG Roofing Supplies building in Leeds, West Yorkshire with two pools, fold-up chairs, games, drinks, a BBQ and music.
Staff rocked up to work anticipating an unbearably hot day of work ahead, as temperatures were expected to hit 33C.
Instead, as a video taken by roofer Dylan Foster shows, the managing director himself had transformed the yard and surprised his whole workforce, reported The Sun.

He shared the video on TikTok yesterday and the post took off, having already received over 1.8m views and more than 206,000 likes.
Thousands took to the comments, describing Dylan’s boss as a ‘legend’ for hosting the party.

‘Nah, your boss is a legend,’ wrote one, with another adding: ‘Your boss understands the assignment. What a legend. I would work twice as hard for a boss like that.’
More dubbed him a ‘top boss’, as one wrote, ‘Top boss, it makes no sense to have people work in this heat,’ and another chimed in, ‘I’d say boss of the month goes to your boss.’ While someone else added, ‘That’s a belting boss. Keep your staff happy and they stay loyal.’
Dylan told Deadline News: ‘When I turned up to work I thought it was a photoshoot at first from the outside.
