Listing photos of a garden flat on the market for £500,000 has left home hunters puzzled as they think someone is asleep in one of the beds.

The flat in a Victorian house split into flats is located in the affluent west London residential area of Maida Vale, but potential buyers were drawn to the unmade double bed in the main bedroom.

The duvet is all crumpled and it appears there is a large lump underneath it.

One home hunter, called Sian, took to Twitter, saying: ‘Just browsing properties for sale. And…is someone still in that bed!?’

‘It looks like someone is asleep in the bedroom,’ another added.

The two-bed home – which has a private back yard – is enticing for buyers because there is no chain. Estate agents also say there is great potential to extend.

The pad boasts period features and wooden flooring and has a large lounge, bathroom and kitchen.

The listing reads: ‘A two bedroom garden flat with separate kitchen/reception room available chain free and with a private rear garden.

‘Wooden floors and period features can be found throughout.

‘It is great for access to Queen’s Park or Westbourne Park with many transport links to Central London and within a mile of Little Venice, Portobello and Paddington Rec.’

The listing remains active on Rightmove, however the estate agent has since removed the photo of the main bedroom.
