Lottery winners scoop £1m jackpot after playing same numbers for 22 years

Two jackpot winners are now getting ready for retirement after pocketing a whopping $1.9 million (£1 million) jackpot in the state's lottery.

The couple, from Western Australia, revealed they stuck to the same numbers for 22 years – and almost chose different ones before their huge win, LADbible reports.

"We've been playing the same numbers for 22 years and we were thinking of retiring the numbers at the start of the year because we hadn't had much success," one of the winners said.

"We are so glad we didn't."

And the two lucky were not the only residents of Western Australia to win it big in recent weeks.

A man was one of three winners nationally and pocketed a cool $1m (£738,195) last Wednesday (February 2).

In the UK, a British lottery player claimed one of the biggest EuroMillions jackpot prizes ever in last Friday's draw.

A claim has been staked for the £109.9m jackpot won by a single UK ticket-holder, Camelot said.

The jaw-dropping sum of money will inevitably prove to be life-changing for lucky Brit who The National Lottery says will become one of the UK's top ten biggest winners.
