A MAN who was arrested after crashing a car into the gates of Downing Street has been charged with making child abuse pictures.
The suspect, 43, was led away from No10 by armed cops on Thursday after smashing a silver Kia into the famous entrance.
He was taken into custody but released under investigation as the Met Police confirm it wasn't terror-related.
It has since come out the man is facing a separate charge after making indecent images of kids.
The man, who has not been named, will appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court today.
Cops were forced to shut nearly the whole road in Westminster following the drama this week.

The Sun understands Rishi Sunak was working in his residence at the time of the crash and that the building was briefly locked down.
Footage shows the car driving across the central London road behind the Cenotaph war memorial before careering head-on into the metal gates.
Witness Simon Parry, 44, said: "I heard a bang and looked up and saw loads of police with taser guns shouting at the man.
"A lot of police vehicles came very quickly and were very quick to evacuate the area."

A spokesperson for The Met said: "At approximately 16:20hrs on Thursday, 25 May a car collided with the gates of Downing Street on Whitehall.
"Armed officers, who were in attendance, arrested a 43-year-old man at the scene on suspicion of criminal damage and dangerous driving.
"He was taken into custody and has since been released under investigation in relation to this matter.
"He was charged with an unrelated matter of making indecent images of children and will appear in custody at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Saturday, May 27.
"There were no reports of any injuries as a result of the collision.
"Enquiries into the incident continue by officers from the Central West Command Unit, supported by officers from the Counter Terrorism Command.
"The incident is not being treated as terror-related."
Downing Street – which is guarded by gun-carrying cops round-the-clock – has been targeted by terrorists over the years.
IRA extremists notoriously hurled mortar bombs at No10 while Sir John Major was PM in the 1990s.
