Manchester City and England star Kyle Walker has had the last laugh on his newest rival – WWE Superstar Sheamus.
The City right-back is, like many Premier League players, a huge WWE fan and is often seen interacting with their performers on social media.
Vince McMahon’s stars have just wrapped up a long stay in the UK – two recent tours hitting the likes of London, Glasgow and Cardiff before Wednesday night’s event in Manchester rounded off the run.
It proved to be an eventful night at the AO Arena, too, with titles on the line and some of the biggest names from the SmackDown and NXT brands in attendance.
Walker was an unexpected hit on the night, too, after sticking the boot into WWE villain Sheamus.
The Irishman, who is a staunch Liverpool fan, is never shy about voicing his support for the man from Anfield – once serenading WWE fans in Manchester with a rendition of You’ll Never Walk Alone.
In the build-up to this week’s show, Sheamus talked plenty of trash about Walker, claiming he wanted to "[Brouge] kick him in the head".
He told assembled media at a press event: "He loves to run his mouth, he's a Manchester City player, I'm a Liverpool fan so there's that rivalry.
"I dunno, I just don't like him, he's got one of those faces where I just want to punch, do you know what I mean? … Just something inside him aggravates me.

"He's cocky, talks a lot of trash, especially when they won the league, I'd love to just [Brougue] kick him in the head."
The loudmouth grappler was set to team with WALTER to tackle Finn Balor and former partner Cesaro but took to the microphone to again berate the locals and declare his love for Liverpool.
Then Walker popped up via a pre-recorded video shown in the arena, goading Sheamus into taking a bet – win the match, or have to wear a City shirt as punishment.
Playing up to his role perfectly, Sheamus – who duly went on to lose the match – then did his best to go back on the bet, vowing he’d never follow through and don the blue.

With a little help from Cesaro, though, the former United States champ took another beating before having the shirt forced on him as he staggered around the ring.
It was every bit the pantomime scene WWE’s fans have come to know and love from the company on a night that didn’t disappoint.
Earlier, pop icon Mel B got into a verbal altercation with another wrestling bad guy – berating Sami Zayn having earlier mingled with the likes of Charlotte Flair backstage.
