A man has died after crashing during a police pursuit in Sydney’s south-west on Friday morning, resulting in heavy delays for commuters after the closure of a major road in both directions.

Both northbound and southbound lanes on Alford Point Road between the Bangor Bypass and Alfords Point Road off-ramp to Old Illawarra Road in Menai are closed and will likely remain unusable throughout the morning commute.
