MARKS and Spencer has been mocked for selling sliced cauliflower as "cauliflower steak" for double the price.
As part of the store's veggie range, the product is a chopped up cauliflower with a sachet of lemon and herb drizzle for £2.
It has infuriated social media users who know if they cut the veg themselves they will save around £1.30.
Rachel Clarke wrote on Twtter: "Marks and Spencer stores are selling sliced cauliflower as ‘Cauliflower Steak’ with lots of lovely plastic and charging £2 (normally £2.50).
"A cauliflower costs about 69p from a local veg shop."
She added: "Take cauliflower. Take knife. Chop Cauliflower. Wrap in lots of plastic and mark up the price. The end.
"It's great they are expanding their veggie #glutenfree range but this is just so silly.
"Why not encourage people to buy an actual cauliflower?"
Her followers were quick to back her opinion on the new product.
One said: "Ridiculous …. Who doesn't own a knife to make a few slices through it, it's quicker and easier than slicing an onion."
