Meghan Markle has hinted that she wanted to break away from the the royals even before her marriage, royal experts have claimed.
In the latest preview clip from the Duchess' bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, Meghan revealed that she could not have a personal conversation with her when she was in the Royal Family.
She said: "There had to be people from the communications, sitting there, everything was …even on call."
The teaser gave a glimpse of Meghan and Prince Harry's decision to step down as senior royals.
Omid Scobie, author of royal biography Finding Freedom, said the clip also showed that Meghan was "keen to break away" from the royals.
He said in ABC news podcast Heirpod: "What was so interesting about this is Oprah also admits that she had already called Meghan and asked for an interview and it was February or March in 2018.
"And Meghan said 'I'm sorry this is not the right time'. And Meghan in her own word said she wasn't even allowed to have that conversation with Oprah at the time and goes on saying that there had to be people from 'the camp' sitting there.
"It sort of gives you a look into the very controlled environment that Harry and Meghan were for quite some time so keen to break away from."
Co-host Maggie Rulli said similar situations usually happen in workplaces, as she gave examples that people working at the broadcaster have to ask for permission before giving out an interview about the company.
"On one hand that was not unusual, but what must have felt unusual is that she feels like it is suffocating enough to bring up and to mention that she felt like she couldn't talk about what she wants to talk about," she explained.
"And that there is family that sort of was involved in this ,which complicates things.
"So while on one hand, some of this is normal business behaviour, it must have recently elevated into the level she felt stifle and no longer possible to live the life she wanted."
