Meghan Markle may not have been fussed about losing her patronages by splitting with the Royal Family given the amount of work needed, according to a royal expert.
The Duchess of Sussex, along with husband Prince Harry, lost a number of titles after confirming their permanent separation from the Firm last week.
Perhaps Meghan’s most prestigious role was being patron of the Royal National Theatre.
But, while many have speculated Harry would have been saddened at losing his military titles, the Daily Mirror’s royal correspondent Rupert Myers believes the same may not be the case for Meghan.
Speaking on Pod Save the Queen, he said: “What really have they lost out on?
“Harry’s lost out on his military titles and associations.
“Whether Meghan is that bothered about losing the patronages? I’m not sure she is.
“If she is a patron of the National Theatre, that needs some real attention and focus.
“Not only for that organisation but for grass-roots aspect of the industry – that is a full-time job.
“You can’t do that from LA.”

As Harry and Meghan explained in their statement announcing their separation, they will continue to serve for the public despite their patronages being stripped.
And Russell added: “I’m sure she’ll be able to do something like that in the US.”
It comes as Harry made his long-awaited appearance on James Corden’s The Late Late Show, which was released today (February 26).
As well as revealing Archie’s first word, he also spoke about the reasons behind stepping back from the Royal Family.
The interview was filmed before the announcement last week, when the Sussexes were still discussing how to move forward.
Harry said he had to take his family out of the “toxic” environment caused by the British press, which had affected his mental health.
