Met Police officer to stand trial accused of 29 sex offences against 8 different women

A MET Police officer will stand trial accused of 29 sex offences including six counts of rape.

PC David Carrick, 46, faces a string of allegations against eight women over an 11 year period.

The officer, who has been suspended from the Met’s Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection Command, appeared at Southwark Crown Court today.

Carrick was last month charged with nine fresh counts – bringing the total number of alleged offences to 29.

He today pleaded not guilty to the latest charges, which include six counts of rape and one count of attempted rape.

Carrick also denied one count of assault by penetration and one count of coercive and controlling behaviour.

The new offences allegedly took place between 2009 and 2018 against four women.

He was remanded in custody ahead of a hearing at the Old Bailey on March 11.

A provisional trial date of April 26 at St Albans Crown Court has been set.

Carrick last month denied 20 sex offences against four women.

He was first charged in October with raping one woman after they shared drinks in the town.

The cop, who was off-duty at the time, then allegedly raped the woman at a Premier Inn.

Three more women came forward following his first court appearance and he was charged with 19 additional offences.

He allegedly falsely imprisoned one woman in a cupboard under the stairs and sexually assaulted three of the complainants by urinating on them.

The 29 counts he is now facing are 13 counts of rape, five counts of sexual assault, three counts of assault by penetration and three counts of coercive and controlling behaviour between 2009 and 2020.

He is also charged with two counts of false imprisonment, one count of attempted rape, one count of attempted sexual assault by penetration and one count of causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent.

The cop, from Stevenage, Herts, allegedly carried out the attacks while a serving officer.

Until his arrest, Carrick had been based within the Met Police’s Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection Command.
