One lucky winner will have the chance to own a $4.5 million mansion that once belonged to notorious Mexican drug lord Amado ‘The Lord of the Skies’ Carrillo when the government holds a raffle auction later this month.
The 37,673 squared foot residence was seized by Mexican authorities following Carrillo’s death 25 years ago.
The mansion is located in the exclusive Mexico City neighborhood of Jardines de Pedregal.
It has nine bedrooms, including five which have their own jacuzzi.
The massive residence includes a sauna room, a studio with a wooden library set, a living room and a dining area along with a kitchen.
It has a room where the security system of the massive property is set up and there is an additional room where electricity system is located.
It also small room with a wine cellar and a bar along with a room where small parties can be held.
The exterior area of the mansion has a pool that is covered by a ceiling.
The property has an outdoor parking lot that can hold 24 vehicles and a second garage for six vehicles that is covered.
The mansion was auctioned May 3, 2020 for $2.4 million, but the buyer was unable to close the purchase. The government hopes to sell at least 3 million raffle tickets at $10 a piece for the June 28 auction.

Carrillo built the mansion with the fortune he amassed as leader of the Juárez Cartel. He became the provider of cocaine, a position he reached following the death of his former business partner, Pablo Escobar.

The Juárez Cartel boss earned around $300 million a week and used 1 percent of his illicit profits to bribe government and law enforcement officials, according to the Drug Enforcement Administration.

With Mexican authorities and the DEA agents closing in on him, Carrillo decided to change his physical appearance and evade capture by electing to undergo an extensive facial surgery and liposuction.
Carrillo died from complications during the procedure while two bodyguards observed the surgeons at Santa Monica Hospital in Mexico City on July 4, 1997.
On November 7, two of the doctors were located dead, their bodies covered by concrete inside two metal drums.
