Sandbanks millionaires are outraged at the ‘absolute eyesore’ 5G mast plans threatening the astronomical property prices in the area.
Mobile phone giants Three UK and EE want to upgrade a 20ft tall 3G mast with a 5G structure that will be double the height at 60ft.
The plans show how the mast will tower over the street that runs alongside Poole Harbour, Dorset, and will dwarf luxury houses and businesses.
The structure will be built directly opposite a popular restaurant’s outside seating area. Diners would be sat less than 7ft from the pole.

Properties in the Sandbanks area sell for up to £10 million and residents fear the ‘hideous’ mast could knock thousands of pounds off their value.
There are also concerns that the base of the tower will take up so much pavement room that pushchairs and wheelchairs will struggle to get by.
Local residents and business owners have written letters of objection against the proposal.
Neighbour Tracy Naden said: ‘This is an absolute eyesore to the landscape.
‘The area that will be left to safely walk if the mast is erected is not quite the 1.2m that is required, due to the Koph Thai street dining area on the pavement.
‘Mothers and babies, especially a double buggy, will have to scrape by the huge 5G mast to walk up and down the Sandbanks Road.
‘I am also concerned with the implications of my property being devalued due to this huge 5G mast outside my bedroom window.’
Gary Robson reinforced this worry saying: ‘It is ugly, it is huge, it is right outside a restaurant with outdoor seating, it will affect businesses and property values.’
Under the application parameters, devaluation of property and supposed health risks are not considered valid reasons for objection
Another local resident Philip Hilliar said: ‘This proposal would do serious harm.
‘The scale of the proposed mast is huge and completely out of character with the area.
‘This area has slowly developed into a pleasant, vibrant, centre with a good variety of shops and restaurants and deserves to be protected from this ugly, giant mast.’
According to Three UK and EE’s application the location had been ‘identified as being necessary for EE Ltd business development and meets its specific technical and operational requirements.’
The application was submitted under ‘Prior Approval’ parameters. This means if the application meets development criteria it will be approved, unless it can be proven that there is genuine harm attached to installation.
Devaluation of property and supposed health risks are not considered valid reasons for objection.
