Model who killed Brit millionaire seen sunbathing in Spain after early release

The sister of a British millionaire who was shot dead by his former swimwear model ex-girlfriend has been left "shocked" by Instagram selfies of the convicted killer sunbathing on a beach following her early release from prison.

Mayka Kukucova posted photographs of herself in skimpy bikinis topping up her tan having served just over half her murder sentence.

The Slovakian blonde, 32, killed Bristol-based jeweller Andrew Bush at his Costa del Sol holiday home in front of his new Russian partner, but looks to be lapping up her new-found freedom now.

And on seeing the images, Mr Bush’s grieving 49-year-old sibling Rachel, who gave evidence at Kukucova’s Malaga trial two years after the shooting in April 2014, fumed: "She’s carrying on as she’s always carried on with no remorse. She’s not been rehabilitated in prison.

"I understand she’s on parole and her sentence hasn’t yet expired but it’s absolutely ludicrous to think someone can do what she did and be out on the streets so quickly. I was shocked to see the pictures and discover she was out of jail.

"She’s always tried to make out she was innocent and didn’t do what she was convicted of and claim Andy shot himself during a fight which is just bull**** as we all know. She believes her own lies, she always has.

"What she committed was cold-blooded murder. She shot Andy when he was falling or he was on the floor. She didn’t accidentally kill him and she’s allowed to be out there free despite being a crazy lunatic."

Kukucova was initially sentenced to 15 years for breaking into Mr Bush’s home and shooting the 48-year-old businessman dead.

Jurors at her trial heard she had slept in her ex’s bed for two nights after flying to Malaga and was waiting for her victim and his glamorous 23-year-old girlfriend when they arrived at the villa.

The original trial judge accepted she had acted in a "passionate state of mind" when he sentenced her.

Kukucova had nearly two years knocked off her prison term in January 2017 when appeal judges ruled they were acquitting her of breaking into Mr Bush’s holiday home and were taking into account a quasi confession they said lacked "total veracity" because she alleged she killed her ex in self-defence when he attacked her.

At the time it was reported her lawyers were expected to submit a further appeal to Spain’s Supreme Court.

It was not immediately clear last night if she had managed to shorten her already-reduced sentence of 13 years and nine months.

The time she spent in custody following the murder was taken into account in determining when she became eligible for parole.

Spanish officials have yet to confirm when she first started benefitting from temporary prison releases.

It is also understood she has yet to pay the five-figure compensation sum she was ordered to hand over to Rachel and Mr Bush’s daughter Ellie, who was 21 at the time of the original trial.
