A Texas woman has been caught on camera using her teenager daughter as a human shield to protect herself from police following a high-speed chase.

Tenescha Henry, 35, led Webster police on a 25 mile chase in Bellaire with speeds exceeding 100 mph as she evaded arrest for theft last Thursday.

The shocking footage shows Henry being surrounded by law enforcement in the parking lot of a strip center on Cullen Boulevard near Beltway 8 after her car finally ran out of gas.

The woman is seen getting out of her vehicle, moving round to the passenger side and dragging the child from her seat.

Henry then pulls her daughter in front of her body and, according to officers present, shouted ‘shoot me! shoot us!’

Precinct 8 Deputy A. Peters told ABC 13 ‘At a point, [Henry] did end up exiting and going the wrong way on the service road of I-45 and then ultimately went the wrong way on the local road of Airport Boulevard.

‘She essentially got out of the vehicle, walked around to the front of the car, opened the passenger side door,’ Peters explained.

‘She grabbed an unknown female out of the passenger side and proceeded to grab her, take her out of the car where she, unfortunately, put her in what we would call a chokehold and put her in front of law enforcement’ she added.

‘I distinctly remember her at times saying, “Shoot. Shoot me, shoot us.” Things of that nature.’

As the teenager cried and begged her mother to let her go, officers believed the scene amounted to a hostage situation.

Fortunately, responding officers were able to surround the vehicle and taser Henry without injuring her daughter.

Peters credited the officers training with ensuring a safe conclusion to the volatile situation.

‘That’s ultimately the main goal that we have every day,’ Peters said.

Following the arrest officers found more than 20 pieces of identifying information that supported their fraud case

‘Not only do we want to go home, we want to make sure everybody else goes home as well.’

Henry was taken into custody and the teenager was released to a grandparent, ABC 13 reported.

Henry was charged with evading arrest, child endangerment and fraud.

Following the arrest officers found more than 20 pieces of identifying information, such as debit cards, credits care, social security cards, health insurance cards and drivers’ licenses that supported their fraud case.

Henry remains in Harris County jail with bond set at $20,000. She is due back in court September 27.
