Moment BMW gets stuck in reverse and smashes into parked vehicles outside Tesco while it was being cleaned at car wash

  • Silver BMW was getting a car wash outside the Tesco supermarket in Cannock
  • It completely takes out a signpost and bumps into several cars before stopping
  • Car wash staff look on in disbelief, standing helpless watching the car reverse

This is the jaw-dropping moment a BMW got stuck in reverse before driving backwards through a busy car park as it was getting a car wash.

CCTV footage shared on social media shows staff surrounding the silver car at a car wash, reportedly outside a Tesco supermarket, while it had its driver door open.

But suddenly it starts careering at some speed backwards into the busy car park behind it, narrowly avoiding hitting any pedestrians.

The BMW completely takes out a signpost and bumps into several cars before coming to a halt at the back of the car park.

It is not yet known if someone was inside the car when it shot back but the driver door shuts just moments before it would have been knocked off by a parked vehicle.

Car wash staff look on in disbelief as they hold their hands up with their hoses in hand, helpless as they watch the silver BMW hurtling back at some speed.

Another silver car looks to be clipped by the BMW before it comes to a stop.

The footage does not seem to show any pedestrians being knocked by the car.

The Sun has reported that it was at the car wash outside Tesco supermarket in Cannock, Staffordshire.

MailOnline has contacted Tesco for comment on the accident.
