This is the heart-stopping moment a driver rounds a blind bend then screeches to avoid a car heading towards them in the wrong lane.

The reckless motorist ended up causing a three-car crash and was banned from the road and told to retake his test after appearing before magistrates.

Dashcam footage from a model 3 Tesla shows the car approaching the bend in Surrey, with a coach and a car passing by on the other side of the road.

As the carriageway straightens round the corner, the Tesla is suddenly confronted by a black Vauxhall, seen speeding towards the motorist on the same side.

In order to avoid the driver, the Tesla then has to swerve into oncoming traffic.

A white VW is then seen slamming on its brakes with its headlights flashing, before the three vehicles ultimately collide.

The black Vauxhall car was being driven by Muhammad Aslam who pleaded guilty to dangerous driving at Guildford Magistrates’ Court.

The 42-year-old from Harlesden, north west London was banned from driving for a year with a requirement to pass an extended retest.

He was also sentenced to 80 hours of unpaid work and a fine of £180.

The shocking crash sparked outrage online, with Dave Rix saying: ‘Seriously, he should never be allowed to drive again, and have the car confiscated and crushed.

‘I had to double check the age too, at 42 years he really should know better.

‘Total disregard for safety. What if it had been a cyclist or a motorcycle coming the other way.’

Another added: ‘Why on earth was he there in the first place? Did he think it was a dual carriageway? What the hell?’

A third added: ‘It’s a brave move, swerving into oncoming traffic. Fair play to that driver, It worked for them and they handled it extremely well.’

It comes after Anna Scoolas, the wife of a CIA operative, was driving on the wrong side of the road before the head-on collision with 19-year-old Harry Dunn in August 2019 near RAF Croughton base.

Harry was pronounced dead at John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford.

Sacoolas admitted that she had been driving the car on the wrong side of the road.

Using diplomatic immunity, Sacoolas left soon after the collision to the United States.
