A MOM tragically died in a house fire after saving her 12-year-old son's life in the blaze.
Firefighters battled the fire for several hours, but family members were left devastated after Brittany Jones, 35, was later discovered inside the house.
Brittany shared the home in Camden, New York, with her husband Aaron and their 12-year-old son Anthony, according to the Daily Sentinel.
Although the couple's son was able to escape the inferno, his mother tragically didn't make it out.
Family members told CNY Central that they gathered in front of the house on Monday as it went up in flames, hoping to see Brittany appear.
"You cling to that hope that she's okay, because nobody wanted to think that she was not okay," said Kayla Svereika, Brittany's sister-in-law.

However, a first responder broke the news that Brittany was unable to escape the blaze – but instead spent her final moments making sure her son made it out of the house.
"She was a force to be reckoned with, in everything she did," Svereiki added.
"She didn't do something halfway — she did it all the way."
A GoFundMe page set up by family members paid tribute to the mom, saying she will "never be replaced."
Aaron's sibling wrote: "My brother lost his wife. My nephew lost his mother. She saved her son's life and made sure he got out of the house.

In a statement, the Oneida County Sheriff's Office said deputies and the Camden Police Department responded to the fire around 9:45 p.m. on Monday night.
They said: "Deputies and village police arrived approximately three minutes after they heard the call and the house was fully engulfed.
"When they arrived they learned that one of the occupants may still be in the house.
"Fire personnel later discovered a victim believed to be an occupant of the house."
Authorities said sheriff's investigators, members of the Sheriff's ID Unit and New York State Fire Investigators are currently working to identify the cause of the fire, which "does not appear to be suspicious."
