‘This is what the Biden admin is trying to hide from the American public’: GOP Sen. reveals shocking directive

Border crossings hit a 15 year high last month

More Americans disapprove of President Biden’s handling of the dramatic influx of unaccompanied children arriving at the southern border than approve, according to a poll released Monday.

Overall, 40 percent of Americans disapprove of how Biden is controlling the situation at the Mexican border, while just 24 percent approve, an Associated Press-NORC poll found.

Thirty-five percent don’t have an opinion.

Broken down by political persuasion, 66 percent of Republicans disapprove along with 15 percent of Democrats.

Only 8 percent of Republicans approve as do 44 percent of Democrats.

Forty percent of Democrats and 26 percent of Republicans have no opinion.

Asked how Biden is handling immigration in general, 42 percent say they approve along with 44 percent who say they approve of his handling of border security.

But those numbers are far off the 61 percent of Americans who approved of the overall job Biden is doing.

“I don’t know how to politically correctly say this: I do feel that, because there’s this new administration, that people feel that they can come to the country,” participant Mindy Kiehl, 40, a real estate agent in Erie, Pa., told the AP.

“I get it. They’re seeking refuge,” said Kiehl, who otherwise approves of Biden’s handling of the presidency. “But bringing these children, it’s not good for the children, it’s not good for the families. I don’t know how that’s going to solve the problem.”

At the same time, the survey shows that immigration is a high priority for most Americans.

Fifty-nine percent said providing safe treatment to unaccompanied minors when they are detained should be a high priority, and 65 percent said the same about reuniting families at the border.

The Biden administration’s undoing of former President Donald Trump’s border policies has prompted a flood of Central American and Mexican illegal migrants at the US border, including thousands of unescorted children.

The Biden administration has also been reluctant to open federal detention centers at the border to media scrutiny as the number of people crossing the border reached the highest in two decades.

On Sunday, Sen. John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) said he and other senators were told by officials to delete photos they took during a recent tour of the border showing children packed “like sardines” inside the facilities.

“We were told to delete the pictures,” he said on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures.” “No one did. You’ve seen the video coming out of all of these kids crammed together under the foil blankets, huddling together.”

“This is both a humanitarian crisis and a national security crisis,” he added.

The poll surveyed 1,166 adults between March 26-29.

It has a plus/minus 3.6 percentage points margin of error.
