Mother reveals how students buried neighbour’s car in wheelie bins in bizarre parking prank

- Police attended the scene in West Yorkshire and the wheelie bins were moved
A mother has revealed she woke up to find a neighbour’s car buried under a mountain of wheelie bins in a bizarre incident she believes was a prank by students.
Photographs show the blue Ford Focus Zetec barely visible buried underneath at least 10 general refuse and recycling bins, like a life-sized version of the block game Jenga.
Jaymie Jones woke up on February 7 to the spectacle outside her home in Headingley, West Yorkshire, leaving her scratching her head over who was responsible.
She initially thought refuse workers had been and left the bins scattered outside – but on closer inspection the 27-year-old spotted six bins perched on the roof of the car with at least another four surrounding it.
The stay-at-home mother believes it to be the mischievous work of students who decorated the car in the night as a joke and says police have since been and the ‘obstruction’ has been moved.

The bemused mother-of-one shared snaps of the strange scene on Facebook with the caption: ‘If anyone knows the owner of a blue Ford Focus Zetec in Hyde Park, you might want to give them a call and wake them up’.
The post racked up more than 600 likes, shares and comments with commenters joking that the car owner had ‘wheelie bin done over’.
Jaymie said: ‘There were bins all the way around the car and up on top of it. There were about five or six on top.
‘I thought ‘had the bin men been and just left them there’. Usually they leave them all at the side of the road so they don’t block access.
‘I thought it was a bit strange and then as I looked around, I saw the blue behind the bins, and I thought ‘oh that’s a car’.
‘It was in the middle of the road, blocking it. It wasn’t too much of a problem but it was quite bizarre to be honest.’
Jaymie said the scene was a surprise, and not something she had expected to see.
‘It’s likely to be a student’s car or the person’s friends pulling a prank,’ she continued.

‘It’s a predominantly student area, so it’s not too unusual for them to be playing jokes on each other.
‘It isn’t there anymore. I think somebody must have contacted the police, because they came to try and find the owner and it ended up getting moved.’
