A DEVASTATED woman lost her home in a heatwave blaze while she was grieving at her late husband's funeral.
Julie Lane, 55, suffered double tragedy while at the service for her late husband Chris, 64, when their lifelong home went up in flames.
The record heatwave baking Britain sparked a series of blazes across the country as the mercury topped 40C.
The unprecedented heat led the London Fire Brigade to receive more than eight time the usual number of call outs as a number of wildfires broke out.
Firefighters battled the inferno at Julie's house on Tuesday afternoon, but the widow tragically lost her home full on memories on the same day she laid her spouse to rest.
Childminder Julie said today: “We were at the funeral and we saw the smoke in the sky. Someone said it was coming from the direction of my house. I’ve had an emotional few days.
“It is the worst you can imagine, but then double it.”

Yet, Julie unbelievably still found a positive from the tragedy: “But I still in my heart I think there are people worse off than me. I have a loving family around me.”
A neighbouring house was also caught up by the flames while Julie and her friends and family were just two miles away.
Her son Alex Honor-Lane and his partner Megan Warren have set up a fundraising page to help Julie rebuild after her day from hell.
The GoFundMe originally had just a £250 target, but the support of well-wishers has meant donations have already reached almost £10,000.
