A STAY-AT-HOME dad locked in a stand-off with his neighbour claims she has dug a trench between their properties – lined with bins.
John Gutierrez, from San Antonio, Texas, says his unnamed neighbour has repeatedly hurled abuse at his kids – and now she's dug a trench to separate them after police advised they build a border between their homes.
The trench is a last-ditch attempt to resolve the tensions, and is lined with a fence and a blockade of rubbish bins.
Dad John, 33, claims the woman living next door has repeatedly called the cops on his family and lobbed vitriol at his children when they play in their garden.
In one instance, John alleges she even rang the authorities when his kids innocently retrieved a basketball that had rolled into her yard.
The neighbours' deadlock began three years ago, John claims – after he asked the woman to stop feeding the local cat population, so the pesky felines would stop defecating on his lawn.

But the older lady was unimpressed by the request and embarked on a vendetta against her neighbour.
John said: "On one of the many times she called the police, they told us both that we should look at getting a fence or something to divide the property line, because we have a shared fence in the backyard and I have my trash cans between the dividing fence and my gate.
"So, she decided to kind of 'eyeball the property line' and dig that trench so we have a physical line that neither of us can cross.
"The worst thing she has done is she called my kids 'annoying little b*stards' and called the police on them because while they were playing basketball in the street, the ball rolled into her yard and they went to retrieve it.

"We try to keep to ourselves, but she sits in her house with her front door open, watching us and waiting for us to come outside, and she will come out and pace along her walkway, mumbling, trying to get our attention.
"She will just stand there and stare at us, or she will sit on her bench and just watch us until we go inside, and then she returns to her Batcave."
John concluded: "I think the reason she is acting the way she is is because she isn’t used to living next to or having to deal with someone who is going to call her out on her being a terrible neighbour."
Their feud had previously been shared online, when John claimed he had even laughed with police over the intense escalation of the feud.
Efforts were made to contact the neighbour, who did not respond for comment.
