A MAN died after falling from a balcony and into a river in Michigan, according to police.
On April 30 around 10:00 at night, the South Haven Area Emergency Services responded to a call of a man falling into the Black River, said SHAES in a news release.
The incident occurred near the Old Harbor Inn.
The man was able to be rescued by a dive team before being rushed to Bronson South Haven Hospital, where he later died.
South Haven Police Department Officer Chris Mersman said the incident remains under investigation.
According to witnesses, the man fell over a balcony railing, hitting the deck below and fell into the water.

Rescue attempts were made by civilians but were unsuccessful, said SHAES.
It’s unclear how the man fell over the railing but witnesses say he was in the water for over half an hour before being rescued.
The man has yet to be identified.
