REVEALED: Neo-Nazis who held rally outside Disney World in Florida were from new hate group called Order of the Black Sun and the protest was their first after forming earlier this year
- The group who protested outside Disney World over the weekend has been identified as the Order of the Black Sun, hate group experts say
- The ‘OBS’ is a white supremacist group based in Florida that started earlier this year and the protest was their first
- Discovery comes just hours after Disney heiress Abigail Disney said her grandfather would be ‘spinning in his grave’ at the protesters
The group of Neo-Nazis who protested outside Disney World were from a newly-established hate group identified as the Order of the Black Sun and the protest was their first.
Anti-Defamation League (ADL) researcher Ben Popp told local media that the group – also known as ‘OBS’ – is a white supremacist network that formed just months ago.
Popp said the hate group is ‘well known’ to the ADL and that it’s comprised of individuals who have ‘been involved in other white supremacist groups and organizations in the state of Florida for the past couple of years.’
Pictures and videos posted to Twitter by a Florida state representative showed about 15 protesters waving the Nazi flag and saying ‘Go back to Mexico’ on Saturday.
The identification of those involved comes after Disney heiress Abigail Disney said her grandfather would be ‘spinning in his grave’ at the sight outside the famous park.

Anti-Defamation League (ADL) researcher Ben Popp told local media that the group – also known as ‘OBS’ – is a white supremacist network that formed just months ago
Popp told the Orlando Sentinel that Florida hate groups often work together to ‘make themselves appear bigger than they are to both intimidate communities.’
The ADL researcher specializes in far-right extremism and white supremacy, according to his LinkedIn page.
He said the goal of the organizations is to ‘normalize their anti-Semitism’ so that communities become numb to their horrific actions.
‘You know, they want these sorts of things to be a common occurrence. So that people will sort of get used to this and become desensitized,’ Popp said.
‘That’s really their whole goal,’ he continued.
In 2022, Popp spoke with FOX 4 and discussed an alarming rise in extremist-related incidents in the Sunshine State, along with a growing white supremacist network.
‘We’ve seen a white supremacist network within the state continue to grow and add new groups and add new members,’ Popp told the local news outlet.
Part of that growing network is the Order of the Black Sun.
The ADL’s website states that the name ‘Black Sun’ is a reference to a Nazi symbol often referred to as the ‘sonnenrad’ or the ‘sunwheel.’
The logo, which looks like a wheel with jagged spokes, was used by the Nazis ‘in their attempt to invent an idealized ‘Aryan/Norse’ heritage, the website states.

The shocking photos and video show protesters marching with signs featuring Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’s face, the n-word, and homophobic slurs.
A ‘DeSantis 2024 Make America Florida’ flag was also planted in the ground nearby.
The Republican governor is seeking to limit Disney World’s power in Orlando.
In a statement following the protest, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to the demonstration, which dissipated after about two hours with no arrests.
‘We are aware of these groups that aim to agitate and incite people with anti-Semitic symbols and slurs,’ it said in a statement. ‘They are also aware of the law.
‘The Orange County Sheriff’s Office deplores hate speech in any form, but people have the First Amendment right to demonstrate,’ it continued.
‘And while what these groups do is revolting and condemned in the strongest way by the Sheriff and the Sheriff’s Office, they did not on Saturday, to our knowledge, commit a criminal act.’
On Sunday, Abigail Disney posted to social media her response to the protestors saying, ‘My grandfather is spinning in his grave.’
Roy Disney, Abigail’s grandfather, founded the eponymously named company with his brother Walt Disney in October 1923.
After Walt’s death, Roy helped oversee the construction of the Florida theme park.
For years, rumors have been circulating that Walt was anti-Semitic because of stereotypes found in early cartoons.
But a 2015 documentary dismissed those claims, with several people who knew the man saying they never believed he was anti-Semitic.

In recent months, Disney has been at war with the Florida Governor since it decided to speak out against the state’s ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill last year.
The now-law bans the discussion of homosexuality and other LGBTQ issues in schools among younger children.
DeSantis has revoked Disney’s special tax status – known as the Reedy Creek oversight district – as a result, and imposed his own board of governors with the power to close down rides at their theme parks.
He has also threatened to build a prison or a competing theme park next door.
In response, Disney sued DeSantis and Florida’s Tourism Oversight Board for stripping its control over Reedy Creek.
The company accused the Republican governor of ‘weaponizing’ his power to inflict political punishment.
The decision to speak out spiked Disney’s popularity among Democrats but plummeted their popularity with Republicans.
