New York’s COVID-19 positivity rate ticked up slightly Friday, the latest numbers show.
There were 8,201 positive test results reported Friday, or 3.15 percent of the total taken, up from 3.01 percent the day before, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced.
The statewide positivity rate, measured on a seven-day average, was 3.41 percent Friday, up from 3.37 percent the prior day.
The seven-day positivity rate in New York City Friday was 4.26 percent, an increase from the previous day’s number of 4.18 percent.
There were 4,578 New Yorkers hospitalized with the bug Friday, a decrease of 25 from the previous day.
A total of 76 people died from COVID-19 across the state Friday including 44 in the Big Apple.
