NIGEL FARAGE rushed to defend embattled Ukip boss Henry Bolton last night as furious chiefs met to discuss the sex scandal engulfing the troubled party.
After The Sun revealed the leader’s affair with a topless model half his age, the party’s Equalities spokesman quit in disgust.
But Mr Farage said that while the scandal might be “uncomfortable for him in the short term, at least people now know his name.”
The Brexit stalawart went on: “At least he is being talked about now.”
“People are now writing about him and they weren’t before.
“It’s very, very difficult to get voted for if nobody has ever heard of you before.”

After Mr Bolton’s estranged wife revealed he had dumped her by text while she was still breast feeding their second child, angry party bigwigs are planning to force a vote of confidence at the party’s ruling National Executive Committee.
The ruling body were last night forced to schedule a special meeting to decide Mr Bolton’s fate in ten days time.
