Victoria has recorded no new local coronavirus cases for the ninth day in a row, as GPs prepare to begin vaccinating Victorians against the virus in just over two weeks.
There are now five active cases remaining across the state – four from community transmisison and one in hotel quarantine – with 11,024 tests completed across Saturday.
There were no new cases reported in hotel quarantine.

“We can’t do much with 50 doses. Once we vaccinate staff and doctors here, that’s 10 doses gone,” Dr Garra said.
“We’re really keen to start and get people vaccinated, but’s going to depend on the supply of vaccine to make it efficient. Until we’ve got vaccine guaranteed in our hands, we can’t book a place or employ casual staff to help do the vaccinating.”
The last person who was hospitalised with COVID-19 in Victoria following the Holiday Inn cluster has now left hospital, according to the Department of Health on Saturday.
There have now been 12,851 Victorians vaccinated against COVID-19 since the program began on February 22.
Victoria recorded a single new case of the virus on Saturday – an international aircrew member who is currently in hotel quarantine.
