NEW details have been revealed that cops had the 'killer' in the Queens mom case under surveillance for days and he spotted police following him.
David Bonola confessed to stabbing Orsolya Gaal 59 times, stuffing her body in her son's hockey bag and dumping the bag at a park near her house in New York.
Bonola used to work for Gaal as a handyman and allegedly had an on and off relationship with her for the past two years.
He had been a suspect for NYPD early on in the investigation.
Officers had his house under surveillance for days after her death and found some evidence connecting him to the crime scene, according to the Daily Beast.
Detectives saw that a garbage truck came to Bonola's house on Wednesday.

During questioning, Bonola tried to divert their attention to other possible suspects.
The 44-year-old agreed to go with detectives for questioning where he confessed to the killing.
Police speculate that Bonola suspected that Gaal was talking to other men and went to her house to talk about it.
The two went to the basement to talk and that's when the crime was committed.
Gaal was married to Howard Klein who was out of town with their older son touring colleges.
The bag Gaal was found in belonged to the her 13-year-old son. Bonola used that item in hopes of the family not finding it.
Bonola has been placed on suicide watch after his first court appearance.
