In the footage, the three-year-old steps forward and walks to the freezer door.
As he opens the door and looks in the freezer, it suddenly falls off.
The boy watches on as it hits the table and crouches down as some pieces from the door litter the floor.
His father Joe said: ‘I have never had a problem with Samsung. My little one came down in the morning and opened the door.
‘Out of nowhere I heard a thud. Everything came smashing down and luckily, as you can see, he missed it in the nick of time.’
‘If this had been a nine-month-old crawling on the floor and somebody opened it up it could have been fatal.’
His three-year-old was left shocked by the incident and had be to calmed down afterwards.
The boy also suffered some scratches to his foot and the incident terrified his family, with his father saying he could have been killed.

Joe rang Samsung and tried to get them to look at the door but was told they could not do anything as the accident took place outside of the 48-month warranty.
He then called a third party engineer who told him he had never had such a call out.
Joe wants to warn others about the appliances and says people need to ‘watch what they are buying.’
MailOnline contacted Samsung for comment.
