A self-professed "skinhead" has been spotted among those tasked with protecting the Queen's coffin procession.

Yesterday (September 11) a hearse made the six-hour journey from Balmoral to Edinburgh, with tens of thousands of Scots lining the streets to pay their respects to Her Majesty.

The coffin was seen draped in the Royal Standard of Scotland as soldiers wearing kilts carried it into the throne room of the Palace of Holyroodhouse.

Naturally, given the size of the crowds and sensitivity of the situation, there were plenty of police and security guards there to ensure things ran smoothly.

One man in particular stood out among the rest.

Cameras snapped one bald bloke with multiple head tattoos, flaunting his Scottish pride and involvement with the skinhead movement.

Alongside a Scottish flag, the tats read: "Made in Scotland. Edinburgh East-Side Skinheads."

Later today (September 12) security in Edinburgh will be ramped up again as King Charles makes the trip north.

This morning he is addressing Parliament for the first time as King, before flying to Edinburgh to join his siblings in a solemn procession taking his late mother to St Giles' Cathedral.

There, Charles will be joined by other senior royals for a vigil.

Earlier today Prince Harry made his first public comments since his grandmother's death.

He said: "Granny, while this final parting brings us great sadness, I am forever grateful for all of our first meetings – from my earliest childhood memories with you, to meeting you for the first time as my Commander-in-Chief, to the first moment you met my darling wife and hugged your beloved great grandchildren."
