Pictured: Ambulance which caused ‘massive bang’ after flipping onto its side during crash which brought ‘havoc’ and closed a road

An ambulance that caused a ‘massive bang’ after flipping onto its side during a crash which closed a road has been pictured. 

Two cars and an ambulance collided at around 8am this morning in Mottram, Longdendale.

The smash happened on Mottram Moor, near the junction between Stalybridge Road and Market Street, causing long delays in the area.

Police, fire, and ambulance crews were rushed to the scene, shutting Mottram Moor until around midday.

No injuries were reported from the collision.

Residents reported on social media that they heard a ‘massive bang’, before emergency services rushed to the scene which led to traffic ‘chaos’ and ‘havoc’ in the area.

A Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) spokesman said: ‘Just before 8am on Sunday 12 March, fire crews were called to reports of a road traffic collision on Mottram Moor, Hyde. One fire engine from Hyde quickly attended the incident, which involved two cars and an ambulance.

‘Firefighters used specialist equipment to make the area safe. GMFRS crews were in attendance for around 20 minutes.’

MailOnline has approached Greater Manchester Police (GMP) and North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) for comment.
