Prince George, Louis and Charlotte will miss school on birthdays

Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are all set to live every child's dream and miss school on their birthdays in 2022.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's three little ones will be celebrating their most special day of the year with their parents at home and it's all luckily down to how the dates fall.

Royal children are not able to get any extra benefits to miss school on their birthdays, but George, Charlotte and Louis have struck gold as their birth dates fall on the days they aren't required to attend any school.

Prince George, Kate and William's eldest, was born on the 22 July so will be having fun at home on his birthday as it falls on the Summer break almost every year.

But his sister, Princess Charlotte, 6, and Louis, 3, would normally have to spend the day in lessons on their day of birth.

Charlotte was born on 2 May, which luckily falls on a bank holiday in 2022 – the early May Bank holiday is on a different date each year.

And the royal couple's youngest, Prince Louis, was born on 23 April, which falls on St George's Day.

Although St George's Day is not an official public holiday so school's aren't usually closed, this year it falls on a Saturday, meaning Louis can enjoy his fourth birthday at home with his family.

Princess Charlotte and Prince George are students at Thomas's Battersea school in south-west London, while Louis attends Willcocks Nursery School in in Kensington, just down the road from Kensington Palace.

Kate Middleton's 40th birthday on 9 January also luckily fell on a Sunday, allowing her to spend her special day on the weekend with her family.

Unlucky for Prince William his 40th celebrations will fall on 21 June fall on a Tuesday in 2022.
