Pupils 'collapse with seizures and vomit blood after taking zombie drug Spice' at Cambridgeshire secondary school

TEENS collapsed and vomited blood on stage after taking zombie drug Spice at their secondary school, horrified parents claim.

The pupils were understood to have taken the powerful synthetic marijuana substitute – with one pupil allegedly having a seizure.

Thomas Clarkson Academy in Wisbech, Cambs, confirmed a “small group” of students had taken “illegal substances.”

Horrified parents took to social media, with one parent claiming their child had seen classmates collapsing and "vomiting blood".

She said: “Anyone else's child come home from TCA today worried after seeing a number of students faint and vomiting after taking spice drug?!”

Other parents were quick to respond – claiming they had been told some pupils at the 1200-strong secondary school collapse.

One mum said: "My daughter saw one boy having a seizure today he was sitting just behind her! I’d like to know what the school are doing about this!!”

Another wrote: "My son was saying two children collapsed from smoking it! How scary!”

While one mum said her son had told her pupils were left "vomiting blood" while on stage.

Thomas Clarkson Academy told Sun Online: "There was an incident at Thomas Clarkson Academy yesterday involving a small group of students taking illegal substances.

"The matter was dealt with very effectively by staff in accordance with our safeguarding procedures and all the children are safe.

"As a school we do not tolerate such behaviour and we will be taking all necessary steps to keep our children safe in future. This will include a combination of severe sanctions for those involved in the incident along with additional training and support for all students."

Spice is made up of a range of amphetamines and other laboratory-created chemicals that vary wildly from batch to batch.
