“QAnon Shaman” at Colorado prison for competency evaluation

Jacob Anthony Chansley, known as the QAnon Shaman and who was among the most recognizable faces of the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, is undergoing a competency evaluation at federal prison in Littleton, according to a federal legal document.

9News first reported the development on Twitter.

Chansley is at the Englewood Federal Correctional Institution awaiting trial on six criminal charges, including violent entry, according to Reuters.

Photos and videos of Chansley showed him among the rioters who broke into the U.S. Capitol in an attempt to overturn the fair presidential election. Chansley’s face was painted red, white and blue, and he wore a furry headpiece with long, black horns and carried an American flag.

At least nine Coloradans have been arrested on charges of participating in the riot that ended in several fatalities and hundreds of injuries.

The Coloradans charged include Hunter Palm, of Colorado Springs; Logan Grover, of Erie; Jacob Clark of Trinidad; Glenn Wes Lee Croy of Colorado Springs; Robert Gieswein of Woodland Park; Klete Keller of Colorado Springs; Cleveland Grover Meredith Jr.; Patrick Montgomery of Littleton; and Jeffrey Sabol of Indian Hills.
