Queen ‘offers Meghan and Harry Balmoral olive branch’ but they’ll avoid royals

The Queen has reportedly offered Meghan Markle and Prince Harry an olive branch, inviting them to join her at Balmoral during her summer break.

The opportunity would allow the Sussexes to stay with Her Majesty briefly when other senior royals aren't around, avoiding any drama.

The 96-year-old monarch ventured up to the Scottish Highlands on Thursday (July 21) for her annual summer getaway. She is set to stay at the seven-bed Craigowan Lodge for 10 weeks in keeping with tradition.

A Balmoral insider told The Sun that preparations are underway for the Sussexes and their children.

They said: "Staff have been told to expect the full list of royals including Harry, Meghan and their children Archie and Lilibet.

"They are preparing for the Sussexes."

If Harry and Meghan do decide to make the trip back across the pond with their kids, it will be their first visit to the Highlands to see the Queen since 2018.

They have visited Her Majesty twice this year, first in early April before the Invictus Games in the Netherlands and again at the start of last month for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

Last month was the first time that the Queen got to meet her great-granddaughter Lilibet.

However, royal insiders say the Sussexes didn't get much time with the Queen during the hectic Jubilee celebrations, hence why she may be keen to arrange another visit.

One told The Sun that they barely spent a quarter of an hour together, adding: "Balmoral is the perfect place for them to spend a little bit of quality time with the Queen."

That said, another source explained they would be very surprised if the Sussexes did decide to make the trip back across the Atlantic.
