Report: Former Florida coach Dan Mullen joining ESPN in analyst role

Dan Mullen is joining ESPN this season.

The former Florida and Mississippi State coach will serve as an in-studio analyst during the college season this fall, according to Brett McMurphy of the Action Network.

Mullen has served as a guest analyst with ESPN since his time with Florida. Specifics regarding his new role with the network are not yet known.

Mullen was fired from Florida last November after a 5-6 start to the season. He went 34-25 and reached one SEC title game in more than three seasons with the Gators, who eventually tabbed Billy Napier to replace him.

Before landing in Gainesville, Mullen spent nine seasons at Mississippi State from 2009-2017. He compiled a 69-36 record with the Bulldogs, and won five of seven bowl games.
