Richard Pusey charged over allegedly posting image of dead police officer on Porsche website

Richard Pusey has been charged with allegedly posting an image of the body of a dead police officer – who was one of four members killed in a crash on Melbourne’s Eastern Freeway in 2020 – on the website of a Melbourne Porsche dealership.

The Age can reveal the 44-year-old has been charged with two counts of using a telecommunications device to menace and two counts of committing an indictable offence while on bail.

Pusey is alleged to have posted a Google review to a site belonging to the Porsche Centre Melbourne, which included an image of an officer killed in the horrific crash in April 2020.

A Victoria Police spokeswoman confirmed that Pusey was arrested at about 8pm on Tuesday evening, after police executed a warrant at a property in Kurunjang about 35 kilometres west of Melbourne.

Pusey fronted the Sunshine Magistrates Court on Wednesday afternoon.

The charges come within days of a state memorial held at Marvel Stadium to commemorate the lives of Leading Senior Constable Lynette Taylor, Senior Constable Kevin King and Constables Josh Prestney and Glen Humphris.

A spokesman for Porsche Australia declined to comment and referred The Age to Victoria Police.
