ROWDY revellers were in high spirits last night as they celebrated the second night of the long weekend.

Huge crowds swarmed bars and clubs across the UK for a bank holiday toast before spilling out onto the streets in the early hours.




Pals danced into the night in Newcastle, with groups posing for pictures on the city's Quayside.

And boozed-up Brits took to Birmingham's Broad Street for hours of drinking fun.

Stag and hen parties were also out in force, making the most of happy hour deals.

Elsewhere, groups of mates took on the infamous Otley Run pub-crawl in Leeds, walking between each of the 15 bars.

Many donned full fancy dress for the occasion, wearing everything from vampire costumes to hotdog suits.

Fifty miles away, Manchester was a sea of colour thanks to the city's annual pride event, this year themed "March for Peace".

And in London, Notting Hill Carnival-goers put on their best outfits for the vibrant celebration of Caribbean heritage.

Hundreds took part in a paint fight, drenching each other in colour.

While others boogied through the streets in red, green and yellow, soaking up the sunshine.

The party vibe is only expected to continue with round three tonight.

Many will want to make the most of having Monday off on what is the last bank holiday before Christmas.

And the weather is looking warm and dry for most, with highs of 23C in the south and 18C further north.
