Royal fans slam £25-a-head wedding party that boasted Elton tribute, champers and big screens – but looked like THIS

A ROYAL superfan was left devastated when a £25-a-head wedding party became a "disaster from start to finish".

The Royal Wedding Party event, held from 11am until 5pm as Meghan and Harry made their vows, promised on its website to "capture the true spirit of the occasion first with a wonderful all-day event".

Customers were promised that they could watch the wedding on the big screens at One Marylebone – a Grade I listed building – while enjoying a variety of attractions.

These, it was claimed, would include bouquet and corsage making, wedding cake decorating, learning how to make the ultimate Bloody Mary, taking part in traditional British games and all "washed down with a delicious hog roast and copious amounts of champagne".

It was also advertised that a ‘Have I Got News For You’ style comedy panel would feature, and live bands including Elton John and Ed Sheeran tribute acts.

A first dance masterclass was also promised.

However one customer was left very disappointed, claiming that very few of the advertised attractions were on offer to punters.

Naomi, who attended with her partner, told The Sun Online: "I wasn't sure if we should go to Windsor and see it all in person, and then we saw this event listed online and I thought it looked really good.

"It listed loads of activities like first dance lessons, Elton John and Ed Sheeran tribute acts, bouquet design lessons.

"So we were really excited and when we got there, we had to queue for ages so it seemed really popular but it was just a disaster from start to finish.

"They had the wedding on a just a few screens which were all smaller than the one we have at home.

"None of the acts appeared to have shown up so we do not know what happened. After the wedding there was a band, but it wasn't a tribute act.

"Then there was some limbo game which I suppose is their version of the promised 'garden activities'. It was just an embarrassment."

Event tickets were sold by Design My Night and it was organised and promoted by events group Bourne & Hollingsworth.

Queues for food were so long that Naomi and her partner ended up getting a Nando's on the way home.

Naomi added: "Considering we paid £25 each, plus a £5 booking fee, I just feel we would have had way more fun watching it at home or on a big screen in a public park.

"Glasses of champagne were £8, there was a 45 minute queue for the ladies' toilets and the queue for any food was massive, so it wasn't only rubbish but it was also a very expensive day.

"When I got home I sent them a complaint about it, but they haven't bothered to respond."

The Sun Online has contacted Bourne & Hollingsworth for comment.
