England rugby legend James Haskell has said he and Prince Harry ‘speak every night every now and again’ to swap parenting tips.

The former England ace, 37, gushed praise for Harry, 38, and Meghan, 41, saying the duo were ‘brilliant parents’ to Archie, three, and Lilibet, one.

Haskell welcomed a baby daughter called Bodhi with his wife Chloe Madeley last year.

The rugby player became friends with the controversial prince during his playing career.

Harry and Meghan have rarely left the limelight since they quit as working royals and searched for ‘privacy’ before signing lucrative deals with Spotify and Netflix.

Most recently they found themselves in the crosshairs of the infamous cartoon show South Park in its episode The Worldwide Privacy Tour.

In the US, the couple’s popularity ratings have slumped to an all-time low and they have found themselves less popular than the disgraced Duke of York Prince Andrew.

However, rugby star Haskell has defended the Duke of Sussex.

He told the Mirror: ‘I ended up inadvertently being a big defender of his recently.

‘I speak to him every night every now and again.

‘We’re just sort of comparing notes about kids always being ill.’

Talking about Spare, Haskell added: ‘I think people deserve to be able to say their version of events.’

Earlier this year Haskell poked fun at Harry’s claim Prince William pushed him onto a dog bowl during a fight.

Haskell said in a video shared to Twitter in January: ‘There’s a lot of stuff in the newspapers about brothers fighting.

‘Just want to reassure everyone my brother and I used to fight all the time.

‘I never got filled in, if anything I beat the hell out of him and made him drink out of a dog bowl’, he quipped.

‘I’ve also got a book out… and my family’s also quite annoying.’
